Anyone have this problem when at the beginning?

I'm on day 2 following the Primal Blueprint and yesterday I felt great, I had so much energy and felt awesome, I was in a fantastic mood too. Today on the other hand I am very angry for no apparent reason (we're talking severe road rage, instant irritation with small things) and I'm normally a very even tempered person. I'm thinking it has something to do with the sugar/carb withdrawls but I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this?? Also, I'm logging my food just to see how it affects the calorie intake and make sure I stay within my target carb range, but I'm having a hard time eating very many calories and I wasn't sure if this is actually a problem or not, i'm not hungry and I'm eating a ton of veggies it's just not adding up to much. I'm just not sure if this is still the inner SAD me talking or if I should eat more.. Some help and insight would be awesome!

Perfectly normal. It's called the carb flu. Here is a timeline of how you're going to feel initially (http://whole9life.com/2012/06/the-whole30-timeline/). Everybody in this group that has done this longer than 3 weeks knows what it's like. Take the time to sleep, eat lots of fat (and extra fruit if you need to eat something sweet). Just tough it out. It'll be better before you know it.
Eat lots of fat to make up for any calorie deficits. It helps to keep you satisfied. When I first started, I was only eating 900 calories the first week. Once I started logging, I realized this and started eating more fat like cheese, olive oil, avocado, etc. Because there are more calories for fat, it'll make up some of the difference that you are missing. If you feel comfortable around 1300-1500 calories, you will be fine there if you're satisfied.
I was looking at your diary and you need to change your macronutrient ratio. Fat percentage should be between 50-70%, protein between 15-35% depending on fitness level and habits, and carbs should account for anything under 100 that you feel comfortable with. Of course, it all should add upMine are set at 60% fat, 25% protein (because i just started my HIIT program) and 15% carbs, just to give you an example. Hope that helps!

While your body goes from a sugar burning machine, to a fat burning machine you will have mood changes, and sometimes great energy, and sometimes low energy. I have had the same problem. They went away very quickly for me. But when I do eat grains for my cheat or treat meal, I have the same reactions the following day. Remember this change in eating( elimaniting grains especially) is not just physical, but mental. So just know that it will pass and probable very fast. Everyday gets easier. You are doing something very good for yourself.
May I ask what got you into paleo/primal? Is there anyone you follow on line such as www.marksdailyapple.com or www.thefatburningman.com. I have learned a lot from them.0 -
Paleo Rage! It goes away pretty quickly :-)0

I got the Primal Blueprint 21 day challenge book, and I have been checking out marksdailyapple.com and it's been pretty helpful, i just haven't had much time the last 2 days to really go through it and read all the information but I plan on being a frequent flyer on the site, and I'll have to check out thefatburningman.com too0

I was pretty grouchy, too, as my body acclimated. My fiance noticed my demeanor change slightly. Just explain what's going on to everyone and they should understand. But at the same time, try to be mindful of it as well and try a little harder to not let it take over. It will pass pretty soon.0

I am on Day 1 following the Primal Blueprint. I did the Atkins plan a few years ago and felt great, so I am going to try to jumpstart my weight lss with some ketosis beore adding healthy carbs into my diet.
Here is where I am struggling...
With MFP, do I need to even concern myself with calories with a PB plan?? It seems like I could blow out my calorie goals easily yet comply with PB. Do calories really matter with PB or Paleo eating?0
