Hiya, I am new to this group, just collected my 25mg patches and mouth spray from the chemist.

I tried at the beginning of last year to quit using Champix but they made me feel like death warmed up and I couldn't sleep. I was like a zombie after only a week!

I hate the smell of cigarette smoke, I hate the taste of it, it was just a habit and not one that I enjoy in any way shape or form. I am hoping that with my exercise routine firmly in place now and being some what in control over what I am eating that this will happen!

Fingers crossed!!

Welcome to the group! I'm attempting cold turkey this time but I was successful with the patches for 6 months. Just a heads up- if you sleep with the patch on, you will likely have realllllllly weird vivid dreams so you might not get restful sleep. Unless you typically smoke immediately after waking up, you might want to try taking the patch off before going to bed. :)

i cross my fingers for good luck, if i am unsure of something or have no control over something (like whether jeter will get the big hit to win a game for the yankees)

so dont cross your fingers since quiting doesnt fall in to any of those categories. you arent trying to quit or hoping to quit since those give the mind an out, the ability to say to yourself ... it was a good try but i didnt make it. if you can commit to it then you can and will do it.

have a great smoke free day

I agree, there is no "hoping" or "luck" involved. You either chose to smoke or you chose to not smoke, success is all up to you. Consider yourself a nonsmoker now and welcome to the club!
