Phase 1 Complete!

Greetings MFPs and Fellow Body Revolutionists!
I completed my first month/phase of Body Revolution (BR) on Saturday, July 23, 2012. Completing this work out came with many challenges, mainly my travel schedule. I went to Florida for a FABULOUS week and did not do BR. I did get in two jogs and plenty of walking around Disney (my God...100 degree heat) and other attractions. I was mindful of what I ate on vacay, however, I discovered that I gained 5lbs:'( I resumed BR (Workouts 3 & 4) when I returned home from vacation. The workouts were killer, but I did the dog on thing! Workouts 3 & 4 focused on front and back of the body muscles (see link below previous blog for description of Workouts 1 & 2). Plankety-Plank...and hallow man too! smh. This girl gives it all a try and works on perfect form (jillian, you will NOT injure me).
Back to my travels, I had to travel out of state for work conference. Being the persistent chick that I am, I packed my resistance cables, free weights, and dvds only to discover that my work laptop did not have a dvd player (what the heck I teach at a technology school, why isn't there a dvd player on this thing?) on it. I frantically called the hotel's concierge to request a dvd player and the hotel did not have any. I checked the fitness room at the hotel-negative. I can't, I won't gain weight like I did in Florida! I want to finishe this workout before October...i am not taking another week off---waaaah! I texted my colleagues to see if anyone had bought a portable dvd player-megative. I had to do something so I went on a jog by the beautiful Grand River in Grand Rapids, Michigan. When I returned to the hotel I ran up the 7 flights of stairs to my hotel room. I was winded by the 3 flight! Waaah I need Jillian! lol. Ok, enough with all my drama/withdrawals! Bingo! At lunch the next day I found a co worker who had a portable dvd player to loan! BACK in BUSINESS! I did my workouts while conferencing and I was conscious about what I ate. I tried some great vegetarian breakfasts options. Indulged a bit on goat cheese and stuffed mushrooms (yum) at reception. When I returned home I discovered that I had gained 10 POUNDS! Wt?!?! I exercised, ate moderately---what happened? I don't know. What I do know is that my weight returned to "normal" by Saturday. Thank God!
All in all, I did not lose any weight during the first phase. I was a bit disappointed because in the past I lose, at minimum 13lbs/month when doing Jillian Michaels dvds. I'd like to blame the lack of weight loss and some gains (yikes) to the month being broken up with travel schedule.
Lesson learned: I struggle with maintaining fitness and diet when traveling. I press on to balance the two whether I am at home or traveling. On a sillier note, I hope these results are muscle and not fat!!! lol.

Weight: + .7lbs
L-Arm: +1 inch
R-Arm: +1 inch
L-Thigh: +1.5 inch
R-Thigh: -.5 inch
Waist: same
Hips: same
Chest: - 1 inch
Neck: -.5
My clothes are still loose, people are complimenting weight loss, i'm looking pretty good in pictures (ow, ow). Well, that's all folks! I am an over comer and I WILL REACH MY GOALS!

I just wanted to say WTG on finishing phase 1! Don't worry about measurements going up, that always happens in my legs in the beginning. Sounds like you have some real challenges with travelling. Hang in there!0

Congrats!! Way to go getting to the end of Phase 1! Balancing the workouts while traveling has to be so hard.
