Is getting very hungry after upping cals normal?

Hi All,

I decided to try the EMTLW way because i was exercising 5 times a day for an hour and didn't see any loss in CM or Weight.

I used to eat about 1200 cals even less but not because that what i was aiming for. I just ate when i was hungry and stopped when i was full and had been doing it for such a long time.

I am about 80 kgs and 158cm short. My TDEE is around 2400 and my BMR is 1600. I am now trying to eat around 1900 Cals a day which is about a 20 percent cut from my TDEE. I have been reaching around 1600 now for the last two weeks and find that i am a lot hungrier now too.

Is this normal after upping calories? What is the cause?

    Yep, totally normal. This seems to be the case for most people but it tails off once your body gets used to regularly getting a good intake of food.

    I've only been doing this since Friday & already feel hungry this morning & I had some 'fuel' before my little run with the dogs & my cycle to work - I now feel I could eat a breakfast which is something I never do!

    I started this for very similar reasons to you, good luck & may we feel the benefits if a fully fuelled body soon :flowerforyou:

    Yip that's right, your now fueling your metabolism monster and it's been starving for a while and is letting you know...lol it will pass though and you will wonder how you ever survived.
