Hi, i didnt do very well on the main forum so will ask here.

I was currently doing the EMTWL plan but just had surgery so cannot do any exercise. What should I do. At the mo im just eating what I want so am obviously putting on weight, but I need to stop it. How many cals should I do.

5' 2, 37, weight about 111lbs right now. Im walking about, but no exercise until at least 4 weeks away. Am getting bit wobbly already so any help would be appreciated.

thanks. x

Sounds like you are already at an ideal weight and you want to maintain (not lose, not gain). Scooby site says your sedentary TDEE is 1504 and BMR is 1253. Eat 1500 calories everyday to prevent losing or gaining.

  • Hi There!!! When you have surgery, you need extra calories to help heal. Ideally, you need to talk to your doctor and find out what he/she recommends that you do. Hope you get to feeling ship-shape soon :flowerforyou:

I've had a lot of surgery over the years my doc always advised to 'be kind to myself' post op ok you can't exercise but don't punish your body by restricting calories as said ^^ you need to feed your body to heal but try to choose healthier options. I used to make big fruit salads to snack on nuts are better than crisps oatcakes & cheese etc. the weight will come off when your body is ready to let go of the additional requirements & once you're active again.

The Olympics starts soon do sit back & enjoy & hope you recover quickly x
