I LOVE EGGS! Is 3-4 a day too much? I don't have cholesterol issues. I love 2 egg omelet for breakfast and usually throughout the day I can eat 1-2 boiled eggs......

Oh, and sometimes egg beaters, scrambled, before bed......

Too much?

    I was just wondering the same thing after I logged my omlet for dinner. I also had 2 hard boiled eggs for a snack today....4 eggs total for the day. Is it too much?

    some people say eggs make their cholesterol go up, but other people say no, it doesn't.

    as long as your levels are okay, i say eat them! i eat 2 or 3 in the morning myself.

    4 eggs a day sounds like too much to me, even if your cholesterol does not go over the daily limit. I am kind of surprised it doesn't either. I'm always watching my cholesterol too. Personally, I might touch 1 yolk a week if that. I only eat egg whites for protein. I even use the liquid egg whites. Much healthier. You should cut back some and mix in egg whites with 1 yolk.

    Many athletes often rely on a combination of whole eggs and eggwhites in a power protein meal.


    Many people do very well with multiple egg intake because its natural dietary cholesterol. Then there are those whose family history may dictate how cholesterol-sensitive a family member might be.

    Under the Atkins' approach (mind you he was a cardiologist) had several patients who had multiple intakes of eggs whose blood work came back with a much lower cholesterol panel, lowered triglycerides and LDL's and a significant increase in HDL's. Mind you, those were his compliant patients...

    Consider holding a discussion with your PCP...

    Dietary cholesterol does not affect blood serum cholesterol.

    In any case, 'high' blood serum cholesterol is not a reliable marker for heart problems.

    In fact, there is evidence that 'low' blood serum cholesterol is preferable.

    Cholesterol is vital to the body, we make more than we'd ever eat.

    Why would we make so much if it was going to kill us?

    In short, eat eggs.
