Hi everyone....does anyone have a new and different idea for a walking contest for their chapter? We want to do an individual walking contest but I am looking for something different. Any ideas would be great.

    Hi Debbie,

    Choose a destination. Map the miles. (Mapblast, MapQuest, Yahoo Maps, etc.) Walk the miles locally (not to actual destination) and see who gets there first or the closest if you are on a time limit (ie one month). This can be done with individuals or teams.

    For instance, I live in GA and am originally from PA....It would take me approximately 600 miles to walk home. So each day/week I walk, I would subtract the miles walked from the total destination. Most of the folks in my TOPS group would probably not be interested in walking home with me but they may be interested in walking to the next Recognition Day or from Augusta to Atlanta (shorter distance).
