Use your core?

What exactly does it mean to use or contract your core?

  • It's like tightening your abs and staying tight in your thighs, quads and glutes. Shaun t wears that line out huh? So for instance when you do the contractions with your hands on your knees as you come up and breath out you should tighten your abs. I know initially my abs were so non existent I couldn't really feel em but now I definitely can.

  • You're welcome. It frustrated me at first to no end. But now I feel my core working in most exercises but still not all of them. I want to get to that point though.

    Some of his things make no sense though... like "lift with your core". You're lifting your legs by flexing the hips... I guess there is some tangential relationship to the core, but it's a stretch.
