Im glad to find this group because I just found out I am prediabetic and my doc wants me to lower my carb intake. I'd love to see how you guys do it and also find some healthy recipes since I am the worlds biggest pasta lover. I am learning to eat whole grain pasta and also spaghetti squash instead of reg spaghetti noodles. But oh how I miss the regular pasta with butter and garlic on it. I just started about 25 days ago and I have lost 15 lbs. Cant wait to meet you and have you give me some good ideas and recipes!!!!!

Wow! 15 lbs in 25 days is quite rapid (5 lbs / week) Realize that it will slow down It has to and that is a good sign. It means you are burning up fat and not just stored glucose.

You might want to read this recent post from me that explains the process everyone goes through when adopting low carb.

dreamfields pasta, while not induction friendly, will be yummy for you once you reach goal weight.

If you miss your pasta try Shirataki noodles.... found in most Oriental sections or Grocery
can find in Spaghetti,Fettichini, Angel hair etc. and 0 carbs, if tofu brand it has 3 carbs.... could not believe it!
have to get over the fishy, earthy smell but you rinse, rinse and rinse some more

Thank you. I was a salt a holic and when I started this journey, I gave it up and I think the first 15 was water weight. It slowed down now and took almost 2 weeks to lose 2 lbs. Nice to meet you and thanks.

Thank You for this recipe I love slushies. :)

I love my Shirataki Noodles also called miracle noodles and it takes the place of pasta for me. I do suggest before using them make sure you prepare them the way finallychelle MFP( user name ) prepares them. The link is in the MFP Search engine "Shirataki Noodles" she also has a blog full of recipes for them.

Shirataki Miracle noodles can be found in Asian stores, Grocery stores, and bought online. The Noodle is zero carb and zero calories it is not pasta but comes from a plant and the fiber is used. It is said Asia has been using it for 2000 yrs. A person would starve to death if they only ate this alone. Use Shirataki Noodles as a filler to go along with meats and veggies.

I eat it everyday today I had the angel hair pasta in home made chicken soup. Yesterday I had the miracle rice in Stuffed Pepper. Tonight I will have the miracle rice in a rice pudding recipe I found online in search engine.

I would never eat them rinsing and not drying them out in a skillet to help remove the rubbery texture. The noodles will take on any strong spice so I use lots of garlic because I love garlic. The noodles are good if you prepare them the way finallychelle teaches. The best advice I can give is if you use them do not compare them to soft pasta it is not pasta, only a sub, this is fiber and expands in your stomach to take away hunger.

If you like the idea of low carb noodles but the fishy taste/smell freaks you out, there are new brands available now that avoid all that. Miracle Noodle and SlimPasta have no smell.

You need to cook the noodles for food safety (just like many other preserved goods). Don't eat more than the portion size as they are full of fibre. Yummy with pesto (even better the next day). For folks who live far from Asia, not all of these are low carb, so read ingredients carefully.
