Serious Shoe Question for Turbo Fire

Hey group! I've been MIA for a couple of months because life got a little too crazy for me to keep up with everything. So now I'm back, I just got my Turbo Fire kit in the mail a few days ago, and I'm ready to start! However, I'm very nervous about my knees & ankles, so I'm trying to figure out the best shoes for me to get. I've done tons of online reading (over the last 2 hours), and I've come to the conclusion that I should get either cross-trainers or dance shoes. Here's my dilemma--I'm still weigh between 210-215 & I already have weakened ankles from 40 years of ankle sprains and falls. My big question is, should I go with the more shock absorbent cross-trainers or with more flexible/increased turning ability dance shoes?

I'm worried that cross-trainers won't allow me to pivot as easily, so I'll end up "catching" my knees and ankles instead of turning correctly. On the other hand, I'm worried that dance trainers will not be supportive enough, and I'll end up over-pivoting and twisting my ankles too much.

Help! Why does being fit have to be so hard?

Thanks group!

PS: Here's part of why I was so MIA...

CLX made this dress possible. I bought a size 18 when I was still wearing a 22 in January. It was almost too big by the time I wore it in July:bigsmile:

    First- CONGRATS!! You looked beautiful!

Second- I'm using my Asics (running shoes) when I start Turbo Fire in Sept. I think they are less bulky than cross trainers. I wouldn't trust the dance shoes for support.

Good luck with TF!!! I'm so excited to do it!

Thanks Kini! I did my first Fire 30/Stretch 10 yesterday, and it went pretty well. I just used my old Sketchers and they were okay for now. My shoulders are so sore though! Who knew all those punches would hurt so bad?

I think I'm going to really like it once I get used to the pace and learn the moves. Happy Tuesday!
