TIps? Faves? Do you boil your brats in beer? What about hotdogs? I love a good hot dog..

I make my burger patties with minced onion and garlic, a dash of worchestershire, S&P, an egg (or so, depending on the amount of beef), and a handful of breadcrumbs.

I use 90% lean beef because I like a juicy fuggin burger. Also let the meat come close to room temp before cooking, so that it doesn't get all weird. (descriptive, yes?? lol)

Love me a good brat, unfortunately I'm the only one in the family that does. Nathans if we are cooking dogs.
Burgers...the deli at our local market has some really good patties pre made. Better than what I can make anyway.

I've always wanted to do a burger with something in the middle, so like two patties with some concoction mixed up in the middle.

Spinach and cheese works quite well.

I did a cheddar stuffed burger once and I didn't like it much. But, I like my patties to be nice and wide and a little on the flat side. The stuffing made the patties thick. Also, hard to flip and maneuver on the grill.

I have done blue cheese crumbles mixed in the beef, and that was a win (actually, I think the burger pic I posted was the blue cheese burger).
  • My issue with both burgers and brats is flare-up. OH GOD I HATE YOU, FLARE-UPS! YOU RUIN MY MEAT!

Valtrex. It will prevent the worst flareups.

As for grease hitting the grill and burning meat, I like to keep a spray bottle with a tight stream nearby. I seriously spray my grill like a naughty cat.

    Thanks for the tip!
