blood blister

Every time I try a max weight Deadlift I get a small blood blister in the joint at the base of my ring finger. It only lasts 5 minutes and than it goes away.
Anyone else get tis type of thing?
The joint is pushed back a bit as I broke that hand a once.

    probably injury related

Are you gripping the bar correctly?

You should have the bar aligned with the pads of your palm instead of center of your palm. Also if you can hook grip even better.

Bar sits on front of the pad at the base of the fingers. Never thought of changing it.
On that finger I would say it actually is more on the finger than the pad as that knuckle is pushed back in to the hand about farther than the smallest finger.

I used medical tape around that area when I tore a callus that took quite a bit of skin with it, might help a bit. Also make sure you are using plenty of chalk so the pressure is in the right area the whole lift and isn't slipping.

in gymnastics that happens all the time unless we wear grips to prevent it when we are on bars or lifting heavy.

can you add a bit of tape lengthwise on your hand (finger and down palm)? See if that prevents the soft tissue from rolling, otherwise get grips or lifting gloves.

Thanks I'll try thee tape down the finger. I do think I lift heavy enough to warrant chalk.
