i really like the old fashioned spin-dial scales, although i do not own one right now.
We currently own a digital scale, with large numbers, so THAT is nice, lol, to be able to actually READ what it says from 68 inches away!
    but,
    these digital scales,
if you weight yourself, it says, "169.1"
and you can move the scale an inch, get back on it, it now reads "171.4"
    and so on.
Occasionally, i can get a difference of SEVERAL pounds on a digital scale!!!!!!!!!

ANYONE HERE have a digital scale which does NOT give you different numbers each time you move the scale around to another place on the floor????????????????????????????

    do such scales exist?

Welcome BlueJean--are you from WA by any chance? I have a friend who uses a very similar screen name.

I have a fancy digital scale that also gives fat% but when the battery died I quit using it and went back to an old scale with a very large dial. The digital one was hard to read and seemed inconsistent and the fat% feature was useless.

No, not from WA, but it is a pretty place!

    since i posted above,
i've been reading up on scales,
and it matters a lot if the battery is fresh,
and if the scale is moved.

Since i learned this, i have found a new spot to keep my scale where it won't get moved around,
    and i keep it there.
For *my* scale, if i step on it slowly,
and place my feet in exact same spot each time,
    it seems to help.
Also, if i let the scale clear it's own self, prior to re-weighing, i am getting a matching second read.

    I also weighed myself,
    then,
picked up an almost full 16oz bottle of mouthwash,
    and RE-weighed myself,
and i saw about a 14 oz increase in the number on my scale,
so i am feeling more confident now about my scale.
