Myths I believed in before Intuitive Eating

I thought it would be interesting to start a list of dieting beliefs I was convinced of before I began Intuitive Eating. To be honest while I have read and enjoyed the 10 principals of intuitive eating; for me Intuitive Eating really just boils down to a couple of basic points, 1) eat what you really like, and 2) eat enough to be satisfied. Before stumbling across IE I was convinced of a lot of other 'truths' (many conflicting), at various times in my eating journey, here are some of them, feel free to add to this list if you have some too:

1) Sugar is a highly addictive, toxic chemical.
2) Eating carbs make you fat.
3) Dietary fat is immediately absorbed as subcutaneous fat on the body.
4) Fruit is fattening.
5) The healthiest way to eat is to eat six small meals daily consisting of nothing but protein and vegetables.
6) Raw food is absorbed better by the body than cooked food, so is healthier.
7) Dairy products are toxic to anyone above the age of three.
8) Eating unlimited amounts of carbohydrates will keep you thin.
9) Cooked foods are too acidic and should not be eaten.
10) Salt is unhealthy and should be completely eliminated from the body.
11) Ketosis is a desireable state for the body.
12) The body cannot absorb any nutrients from 'junk' food.

I know that there are more but I can't think of any more right now. Feel free to join in:)
