Hello my fellow MFPers,
I apologise for the spam message but I am not sorry to be asking for support fro such a great cause.
There is under a week to go until I set off on my Black Dog Ride adventure but I really need your help to hit my target and raise funds for Black Dog Institute. We are a group of like-minded people with a love of motor bikes who are joining together, Australia wide, to ride to the Red Centre raising community awareness around depression, mental illness and mood swings. It is a round trip of about 7,000kms, with around 420 bikes leaving from all the capital cities around Australia and meeting in Port Augusta and finishing in the Red Centre.
Funds will allow the Black Dog Institute to raise awareness and education of mood disorders as well as carry out more research into effective diagnosis, treatment and early intervention of mood disorders. Any contribution, great or small, that you could make would be greatly appreciated. Please visit my Fundraising Page: (http://www.everydayhero.com.au/michael_pears ) Help me make a difference by making a small donation - Every small amount helps!. Thank you for your support.
The Black Dog Ride started in 2009 with Steve Andrews from WA riding solo around Australia having experienced members of his own family suffering this silent illness. Monies raised go directly to the Black Dog Institute that is situated in Randwick, NSW, who put the money back into the community with community based initiatives including educational programs, health seminars for GPs, communications programs and outreach programs in rural communities affected heavily by mental illness. Angry Anderson is our Ambassador who will also be riding with us from Tamworth. Last year the Ride raised $161,665.
This year the NSW ride will depart from Castle Hills Main Street (Old Northern Rd) on Saturday 18th August, 2012, so come to support our departure on this great journey of awareness between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. or just come to see the great array of bikes.
