    Only things I'd say is that the quality of you're workout is not going to be based on you're preworkout meal. Some train better fed and some fasted.

    I think he/she should have mentioned about eating a bit more to make up for the cals burnt during cardio if aiming to put on muscle.

    Carb cycling isn't a requirement to make gains without too much fat gain. Keeping you're surplus to a moderate amount over time is the key.

    Def agree with you on the preworkout meal. I've had a couple sessions where I was starving but still hit PRs.
