    Which is what the liberal mainstream media wants you to believe but then again they've had years of practice trying to spin Obama's "accomplishments".

    Lol. Funny, you just proved my point in my previous post. If you don't mind, could you please tell me what Obama has accomplished over the last 3+ years?

    I'll answer for Colorado! While there is still work to do, Obama's federal leadership has certainly helped in Colorado where:

    1) Every working family received an average $3,900 tax cut.
    2) His auto rescue saved roughly 10,000 jobs in this state and the industry has added over 200,000 auto jobs nationwide.
    3) We added 7,500 manufacturing jobs in Colorado since March 2010, and
    4) President Obama signed 18 tax cuts benefiting Colorado small businesses.

    And for the country, off the top of my head, under his leadership, the Bin Laden is no more.

    As for Paul Ryan, I heard him "challenge" and spar from his high chair on a committee with Ben Bernanke the Federal Reserve Chairman. Oh oh, and I also know that his fiscal policy that he's trying to pass to drive a new way of American spending is roundly critcized by the Catholic bishops for failing to protect the poor and vulnerable. And Ryan's an anti-abortion right to lifer, Catholic on top of that! He wants them born but if they can't pull themselves up by their own bootstraps, by god, they can live in Hoovervilles for all he cares.

    -Debra

    Impressive. It's a shame we can't elect Obama for a 3rd term. Imagine what he could accomplish in 12 years.

    I"m starting my own f*cking party. And I'm gonna run for President of my living room. I'll make ads pitting my daughters stuffed animals against each other. Start websites devoted to the lies spread by the Blue Horse and counter them with the truth telling Curious Georges who live under Mommy's chair. It will be epic.

    I choose as my VP choice Splashing Puppy. It was a tough call between Splashing Puppy and Princess Doggie, but in the end, I felt her royalty would not play well over by the television.

    My apologies.

    1) Every working family received an average $3,900 tax cut.

    I assume the tax cut you speak of is actually the extension of tax cuts, are they not? If so, the working families that you speak of had their taxes cut back in 2003. If Obama has further cut income taxes, I was unaware.

    2) His auto rescue saved roughly 10,000 jobs in this state and the industry has added over 200,000 auto jobs nationwide.

    Yet, unemployment in the country has not dropped below 8% in over 40 months and one of the 2 companies bailed out is now owned by a foreign company. (Not complaining about that since I feel Fiat makes Dodge a much better company its just Fiat could have bought their assets in bankruptcy, completely bypassing the cost to the taxpayers.)

    3) We added 7,500 manufacturing jobs in Colorado since March 2010, and

    Could you please elaborate how he is responsible for these jobs?

    4) President Obama signed 18 tax cuts benefiting Colorado small businesses.

    And yet GDP growth continues to fall and unemployment is stagnant. Would you say these tax cuts were affective? Many of them have or will soon be expired.

    And for the country, off the top of my head, under his leadership, the Bin Laden is no more.

    I'll give him credit for giving the go ahead on this one.:smile:

    Why is Paul Ryan's work history being compared to Obama anyway? A proper comparison would be with Biden I think.

    Let's stay focused. Romney is running against Obama. Not Ryan. :smile:

    It's obvious, Lour. . .every politician would LOVE the chance to drive the Oscar Mayer Wiener Mobile! When you've got an enviable Wiener Mobile in the mix, hey, if it came down to it, Obama would beat the snot out of Biden to give it a lap first!!!

    Doo doo doot doo doo doo doot!!

    (By the way, the Wiener Whistles OM gave away when I was a little girl NEVER worked!!!)

    But then, I wanted Huntsman so WTF do I know?

    At least Huntsman wouldn't offend our allies... :laugh:

    Never happen. Huntsman made the unforgivable sin of working with Obama. But a race between him and Obama would be something to see.

    I wanted him to break out in one of the debates and just say directly to the camera, "Look, I'm not going to bother debating these troglodytes who cannot even acknowledge basic science. It's gob-smacking to me that I am losing to the little Hitler girl, her crazy Paul Bunyan-esque racist Texan, that pizza guy who just says 9-9-9 over and over and calls himself Black Walnut, the little leprechaun stoner who wants us back on the gold standard, Newt...F*CKING NEWT!, Senator Man on Dog, and the Mormon Politi-bot (and I'm a goddamn Mormon!) that is Willard Mittens Romney. Honest to f*cking christ people. Are y'all that f*cking dumb? I'm the only one up here who doesn't take pride in my insanity and I'm losing to ALL of them? Y'know what? *kitten* you. You pick one of these idiots, lose to Obama again and then cry when he stacks the Supreme Court for the next 50 years. It's your own stupid fault. Or, y'know, we could try to look rationally at how to govern and rebuild trust in this nation. No? Ok, *kitten* you, you buncha red-neck inbred cracker *kitten*. Call me in four years if you want to get serious about being a national party again." And then walked off the stage.

    Obama's accomplishments:

    http://samuel-warde.com/2012/07/president-obamas-accomplishments-part-2/

    A different list (many of the same, just categorized differently):
    http://obamaachievements.org/list

    Just a few for me personally: We have 2 kids and thanks to Obama they will be able to be covered by our health insurance until hey are 26. I can take them for annual checkups without a co-pay. My insurance costs aren't higher simply because I'm female. We got a check from our insurance company for reimbursement of premiums.

    A few months ago we got a call from our mortgage company for our AZ house. Because the value of our house plummetted they offered to refinance us for no cost. We are saving over $100/month now. We bought this house in Nov 2010. Because we'd owned our previous house for over 5 years we were able to take the home buyer credit.

    My husband is in Afghanistan right now. He now works for the government. In 2003 he was sent to Iraq as an activated Army reservist. He had to convoy around in soft sided humvees. He had no kevlar or armor. He had a gun but they didn't give him any bullets for a month. Thanks to new policies the guys have armor and armored vehicles and if my husband needs to travel around in country he flies in a Blackhawk instead of being driven around through hostile regions.

    and felt he needed a "hail Mary" game-changer pick to create excitement--a la McCain's pick of Sarah Palin in 2008.

    We all know how well that worked out for McCain
    I love all the attacks on Ryan for not having a "real job." And the clown in the White House had a real job ... when?

    When he was a lecturer at the University of Chicago for a number of years. Is Google too hard for you to use?

    So some people are having fun with Paul Ryan's work history. I see a person that didn't sit on his *kitten* waiting for a government hand out like half the people doing the Occupy protest. He did what he had to do to earn money for his household while he was in college. He didn't follow the Libby blue print and run up student loans, sit on his *kitten*, and ask for a student loan bailout. He actually worked in college. Good for him. I know this might come as a surprise for some of the liberals on this board but when you are in college and you actually want to work and not suckle off mommy and daddy's or the government's teat you take whatever job you can get for the pay check.

    Some people give him crap for taking government jobs during and after college. His major was Economics and Political Science. It is kind of hard to avoid working in your major without doing something in government. Because he works in government he has to like everything about it and want to grow government? I guess he would make a good little Libby then.

    You can't make fun of Paul Ryan's work history without making a mockery of Joe Biden's.
    * 1969 - 1973 Lawyer
    * 1970 - 1973 New Castle County Council
    * 1973 - 2009 US Senate
    * 2008 - Current US Vice President

    Somehow Biden was more qualified then Ryan when he was announced as Obama's VP choice? Really? He certainly racked up the years in the Senate. He had one year of private work before he got sick of it and ran for a county council seat.

    At some point people started comparing Ryan's job history with Obama's for some reason like it was relevant. How about comparing Romney's job history with Obama's? You may not like the results of Romney's job history but you have to admit he was very successful in the private sector. I would go into it more but I am not motivated and have to get to work. Maybe after 4 more years of Obama I will be unemployed and have more time for this banter :smile: .

    Ryan is anti-woman, anti-middle class, claims to be Christian, but espouses the virtue of selfishness, along with his idol, Ayn Rand. He's AWFUL. I can't think of a single good thing to say about his policies and beliefs.

    I can't stand when someone disagrees with you and they throw this out there. :explode: As a libertarian, I get it so often and haven't even had cable tv in years! I don't watch Fox news as they are incredibly biased. Just as MSNBC is incredibly biased to the left and will even admit it as Fox does. Some of us just think for ourselves rather than depending on an unreliable news source. Any prime news station is biased and spins every story they cover.

    I'm with you Mandy. My mom has Fox on 24/7 and it drives me nuts. I pretty much watch O'Reilly when I feel like catching it, and on big news nights we watch mostly CNN, and flip channels to see what MSNBC and Fox are saying that might be different.

    But then I'm an Ayn Rand loving Libertarian who wants the government to let me make my own decisions, so what do I know?

    Ryan is a congressman from Wisconsin. By republican standards, he is considered an "intellectual". He made his national reputation by pushing a budget plan that would dismantle both Medicare and Social Security, institute even larger tax cuts for wealthy Americans, increase defense spending and eviscerate all domestic programs. Ryan's proposed cuts are so severe, they have even earned him a rebuke from the US Catholic bishops.

    His proposal to dismantle Medicare was instrumental in the loss of several republican congressional seats (in NY and PA) during special elections held after 2010. Romney's staff didn't really want him (if this story is to be believed: http://www.buzzfeed.com/bensmith/romney-picked-ryan-over-advisors-early-doubts). It is commonly believed that the choice was A) forced on Romney by conservatives in the republican base who still doubt Romney's conservative bona fides; B) Combination of A and the fact that Romney has seen recent polls tilt dramatically towards Obama and felt he needed a "hail Mary" game-changer pick to create excitement--a la McCain's pick of Sarah Palin in 2008.

    Ryan is also one of the leaders of the "your vaginas belong to us" faction of the US Congress.

    Ryan is typical of the frauds who populate the "young lions" of today's republican party. After his lawyer father died when he was young, Ryan received Social Security survivor benefits --which he banked to help pay for his college education. Since he graduated from college, Ryan spent his entire career working in government jobs, and living off of "wingnut welfare" -- i.e. the Koch brothers.

    So here you have a man who has spent his entire life living off the support of federal government campaigning against the "evils" of federal government support. Or as one columnist wrote:
    The man who wants to make the world safe for swashbuckling, risk-taking capitalists hasn’t spent a day at economic risk in his entire life.

    Like many people whose moral development stopped at about the level of a 10-year-old, Ryan is a devotee of the writings of Ayn Rand. Like his soul mate, the merkin-haired son of Ron Paul-Sen Rand Paul of Kentucky--Ryan believes we now live in a world where
    We risk hitting a tipping point in our society where we have more takers than makers ...

    in which--of course--the "makers" are the super rich and pampered yuppy larvae like Ryan (even though he has hardly ever worked at a "real" job in his life) and Paul, and the "takers" are this vague, faceless (but not colorless) horde whooping it up at everyone else's expense.

    The interesting thing about the Ryan pick--good or bad--is that it will likely change the entire focus of the Romney campaign. Up to now, the entire focus of the campaign has been to make the 2012 election a referendum on the Obama presidency. Given the slow economic recovery and high jobless numbers, Romney figured he could just run as the "not Obama" candidate. Hence his refusal to make any specific proposals, refusal to release tax returns, etc.

    However, with the choice of Ryan, the election will now become a campaign about ideas, and a choice between two definite visions for the future. Instead of just saying "Obama screwed up" over and over and over again, Romney is now responsible for all of Ryan's proposals. He must know support the dismantling of Medicare, privatization of Social Security, absurd budget projections, etc, etc. With the intense spotlight of a presidential campaign, those proposals will now be investigated with intense scrutiny.

    It makes you wonder if the Romney campaign is truly that feckless or if they felt that desperate.

    In other words, we're f$cked.

    Believe me, I wish I weren't still here.

    In Joe Biden's lawerly work years, you fail to mention that he was a "public defender". What, pray tell, has Ryan ever defended save his own skin, so much so that his own bishops denouce his scrooge soul? Ryan's fiscal vision for America proposes to drastically reduce Medicaid, ignore our failing infrastructure and by default give the global economic race to China, our number one competitor. What can you say that Mr. Ryan has done that bespeaks value for Americas number one resource - her people - instead of her corporations?

    There are two clear choices in the upcoming election - a vote that support and builds up the middle-class in America (Obama/Biden) or a vote that further erodes and destroys it (R&R). Only one ticket in 2012 consistently logged more work hours defending the poor and vulnerable - Obama's years as an effective community organizer in Chicago and Biden's as a public defender, not to mention his years as a single father commuting by train 1-1/2 hours each way each day.
