Stalling? Please Help

Options
I was wondering how long an average-jane stalling period is. My weight loss has been on a sharp decline, until recently. I've finally passed the 140s and have been between 139.2 and 139.8 for the past week and it's driving me nuts. My goal weight is 130lbs, I'm 5' 7" and am 18. I eat between 1400-1500 calories a day.

Is this normal? How long does your stalling point last? Should I be doing something different?

I have been stuck at 171lbs for a month but that is because I love snacks.

One week isn't really a stall. One month to 6 weeks is considered a plateau. So until it's at least a couple of weeks, I wouldn't worry about it.

You will probably loose a big amount next week. I like to have a cheat meal when I stall to rev up my metabolism again, and I mean a BIG one! I'll eat an extra 1,000 calories and not even count it. I'll gain weight initially, but in a few days its all gone along with 2-4 extra lbs.

I'm 5'6" and stuck at 140 for about 3 weeks. I finally started moving again and am now 138.

My original goal was 140 but I've adjusted it a little lower now.

I agree with both beckajw and fairglenn. It has only been a week. It may last longer...do not despair. I lost 55 pounds back in 1997. At one time I didn't see any loss but then I dropped seven pounds in one week. I didn't do anything different that week than the others. Just give it time. You obviously know what to do. Just continue doing that.
