My lovely wife was recently told that she should not run anymore, due to a knee and low back issue. we purchased a bike for her last weekend and are ready to start riding.
I was curious if anyone in the group was into biking, and could give us tips or even maybe meet us one weekend for a group ride.
thanks
Mike

Lindsey and I LOOOOOOOOVVVEEE biking. We mainly mountain bike but have went with her parents once to the Big Dam Bridge and rode across and back. We are avid bikers but due to no brakes on my bike we haven't been out in a couple weeks. Hoping to get my bike fixed so we can take some more trails.
What kind of riding do you guys do? What kind of bikes?0 -
Years ago (shortly after dinosaurs roams the earth) I used to love my road bike. I lived near boston at the time and would try to ride every day, I adored the sensation of hauling bootie on a road bike.
years later, when i moved back home to New Orleans, I bought a mountain bike and used to go riding with buddies that were hard core mountain bikers.
I still have that bike. its a rigid GT Talera.. currently working on getting it tuned up.
we purchased a Specialized Globe for janie but she has really not even had the chance to ride it other than one loop around the block. She is going to break it in tonight (weather permitting).
I would think we will mainly be trail riding by the river, her bike is a hybrid but not well suited for going off road IF we are able to work it into our schedule and enjoy doing it, I will probably invest in a new road bike but for now, the extra weight and additional rolling resistance of a mountain bike means that i will have to work harder and burn more calories.. darn.0 -
If the two of you want to ride some really nice trails there is a park here in Hot Springs that Lindsey and I frequent called Cedar Glades. They have mountain bike trails that are relatively easy to tackle. They range from I believe 3 miles to 4.5 miles. We've hit all of them. We've even had the kids ride with us a couple times. It's fun and exhilirating. Be sure to have good brakes. I took a nasty spill a couple weeks ago due to my brakes going out on me.
If the two of you are ever in Hot Springs looking for a nice place to ride just get in touch with us and we can show you where we like to ride.0
