Started out great but havent lost in 2 weeks please help

Frustration is setting in. I lost 8 lbs my first week in a half and havent lost any since. It will be 3 weeks ago tomorrow that I began paleo. Im not eating fruit due to needed to lose a fair amount of weight. Im getting in all my water...I dont exercise much but am going to be walking more. Any suggestions? My diary is open.

You REALLY need to eat more. Your body can't function properly eating so little. I saw a day where uou didn't even make 400 calories. That is in no way healthy or sustainable. You do not need to starve your body to lose weight. Try setting your cal goal up to a minimum of 1200 and eat at least that much every day. I know 1200 is kind of an arbitrary number, but unless you're very short, it's going to be hard to get adequate nutrition eating less than that.

That 400 day, I probably forgot to log something. I set the calories where there were due to what my TDEE was. I am willing to reset everything if need be. I really do want to stay with Paleo. As for my size, I am 5'4" so not the tallest. I have a yarn shop and Im just not very active.

Where did you calculate your TDEE? Try calculating your bmr and making sure to never eat less than that. Aim for somewhere between your BMR and yout TDEE. Sorry for the typos I'm on my tablet and its hard to type on :-)

I absolutely, 100% agree with impy. You MUST feed your body. If you read that your body needs 1350 calories to live, then that's the number you need to reach EVERY SINGLE DAY (I suspect that's your BMR which means it's the absolute minimum you should be eating.....you could probably eat 200-400 more than that and still lose weight at a good pace).

What I read yesterday was to take your TDEE and subtract 500...I hope it doest sound like I am arguing...Im just confused. I will do whatever you guys advise.

Sooo I just refigured everything on Scoobys...BMR is 1627, and TDEE is 1952. It said my calories should be 1562. Is this what I shoot for to maintain or to lose?

For maintenance, you would eat your TDEE. The figure they're giving you is for weight loss, although it would probably be wise to eat no lower than your BMR.

Some fruits are ok. Really, all fruits are ok, just in moderation. You don't want to eat 2 bananas and an apple and 2 cups of grapes all in one day, because those are all high-sugar fruits. Use lower-carb fruits such as berries if you like. Or you can just do what you're saying, skipping fruits altogether if that works for you. Make sure you're eating more plants than meat -- you'll get more of your calories from the meats and healthy fats, but volume-wise, you should be eating more plants. And once you run out of this jug of V8, don't buy any more. You'll get better nutrition from real whole vegetables.

Yes you really need to eat more or your body shuts down losing weight. Try eating a piece of fruit a day if you want fruit. Also if you don't have enough calories at the end of the day then eat a tbl spoon of almond butter or something high calorie.

There was some loss again this morning. I focused on the protein yesterday more. I really have trouble eating the amount of calories it wants me to with the calories being healthy food. Im hoping my macros are right for Paleo and weight loss. I copied what some others said theirs was set at.

Can you share what percentages you set your macros to? Your protein seems very high, where your fat seems low by "paleo standards." My percentages are 20% carbs, 30% protein, and 50% fat, and my protein is higher than some paleo-heads.

Try cooking with healthy fats like butter, olive oil, coconut oil, etc. That will give you a nice bump in calories. If you eat raw veggies for a snack, try dipping them in something like almond butter. When you have a green salad, add in some slivered almonds or walnuts, and make a dressing with olive oil, your favorite vinegar (I like red wine vinegar), lemon juice, and some herbs like dill. Maybe throw a chopped hard-boiled egg or some roasted chicken into that salad. If you want a yummy dessert, get some berries and top them with full-fat canned coconut milk that's been whipped with cinnamon and vanilla (the coconut milk whips better when cold, just fyi).

If you don't have an aversion to dairy, you could consider going the primal route. Then you could add in things like Greek yogurt, cheeses, heavy cream in your coffee, etc.

The biggest thing to remember is that you're never going to hit all of your macros perfectly every single day. So keep them as a guideline, but if you go over one of them in an effort to get in enough calories, don't sweat it. This is a process, and over time you'll learn how to eat to stay within your macros AND your calorie range. For now, focus on getting enough calories, while keeping an eye on those macros to help you learn where you can make changes. But if you don't get enough to eat, the macros won't matter.
