You may want to check with your family doctor and see what they recommend. I go to a dermotologist and she advised on Cephacil lotion for my rawhide feet, lol. It works! I use Euricin products, too. Drink more water, stay out of the sun and google on how to get more moisture back into your skin naturally. Hope this helps!0

oops, have just had a swim and a sunbathe.... both not good. Thank you I will check out on google. I have always had a dry feeling skin but its driving me a bit crackers at the minute.0

Dry skin could be a sign of mentalpause,
or,
it also can signal thyroid or other health issues.
You should ask your doctor to draw some blood work to rule out any other health issues, just to be sure.
the one thing i have found to help, is creamy vaseline. I tend to apply it at bedtime, works grrrrreat on older skin.
I am also finding, that the cheaper
generic "Equate" version
of "Jergen's Natural Glow" lotion is VERY softening,
and when used daily, gives me a tan look, a very natural tan look, NOT that orangey kind. Take care you do NOT put any on your elbows, or any other areas which are super dry, cuz it overabsorbs on elbows, and one spot just below my knees, and makes dark spot which lasts about one or two baths or so.
so i wipe those areas off after applying to avoid a dark spot there.
and, of course, wash your palms and fingernails off after applying. I use a little fan to help this lotion dry again, otherwise, takes about 10 minutes to fully dry before getting dressed.
I look a bit thinner when tan, too,
nice plus, lol.

Thanks, I have been using a petroleum jelly on my lips hadnt really thought of using t elsewhere. I actually had a soak in the the bath last night (instead of a shower) and used aqueous cream to wash with as it leaves a slight film on your skin. Think it may have helped Its a hard life isn't it ?0

My daughter uses the glow Jergens and it does work lovely! I never thought of that one! I may have to try it out, lol.0

yeah, the CREAMY vaseline, is NOT all greasy like 'real' vaseline, try it, you might like it.
This creamy vaseline is a heavy-weight white color lotion, is not just 'vaseline'.
It can be hard to find though, i get mine at the Dollar Store. It might be in baby care depts of drugstores, not sure.0 -

i tell ya, that Glow lotion stuff is shockingly softening!! Really really makes your skin SOFT!!! who knew?
i use the Equate or Generic version of Jergen's Glow, though, it is about two dollars cheaper, and works very very nicely, gives a lovely color to your skin, and can cover up spider veins and scars and stuff. or make them far less noticeable, imo.0 -
I have just checked out their website, am hooked without even trying it. Will definitely look out for it over here. Thank you0

btw, i do NOT put the Jergen's glow on my FACE.
Sadly, i have large pores on my face,
and this stuff darkens the pores to appear dark colored little dots all over my face!!!!!!!!!! and i find it very hard to get the color to appear even on my FACE.
Everywhere else
> it works great, but, not on my face.:ohwell: I found this out the hard way...
*sigh*
^your mileage may vary.
I just apply it from my jaw down,
not on my face.
but, i usually wear a slightly tan color facial powder, so i still "match" my neck, lol.
and i use the generic cheapo version of it, "Equate" found at Walmart,
to save money.0 -

Sorry shouldn't laugh, but isn't it awful the things we find out the hard way ha, maybe we should start a new topic:laugh:
I will bare it in mind. Am lucky as at the minute we have our summer so no artificial colour is necessary.0 -
it could be thyroid problems.0

i so agree, as i posted earlier,
but it seems to have not been noticed by the OP nor replied to, (maybe she HAS had bloodwork done..?)

LOL! It WAS funny, i looked verrrrrrrry odd for a while, til i BufPuffed it off again, lol!!
I am trying to avoid more sun damage for a while, i have enough wrinkles as it is!!
so i am trying as much as i can to 'rest' my skin, so for *me*, a fake tan is better for now, as much as i can, i am wearing sunblock when outdoors. This "jergens glow" does come with sunblock included version, too.0 -
Thanks again, I was just about to google Thyroid. To get some gen on it. Must admit I was just putting it down to heat and humidity.0

Thyroid and OTHER health and multiple endocrine problems can be insidious, So to be SURE, have some blood tests drawn, but DO tell the doctor that dry skin is the symptom, so she will order the proper tests to rule out possible health issues that cause dry skin.0 -

I love Healthy Glow and use it daily!! May start using it on my legs during the winter months if I lose my great tan. But on my face, oh, Yes, I so love it......0 -
yes, by all means, have your thyroid checked. Also check for diabetes. Both can wreak havoc with your skin and weight.
I have super soft skin and look many many years younger than my biological/numerical age.
I have both diabetes and a thyroid problem. A year ago my cancerous thyroid was removed and I am now on meds.
What I do is daily: healthy glow on the face, neck, shoulders, and hands. Lots and lots of body lotion, unscented never anything scented. A night cream or lotion at bedtime.
I never have a bath. Showers only. Weekly after a shower I will rub down with baby oil and put on jammies (top and pants).
If I feel extra dry, I will rub down with Vaseline and cover with jammies and sox.
My biggest thing is if I don't drink enough (I drink 8 liters or more per day) I can feel my skin going dry and itchy.0
