i started the c25k in may, (my own variation of part of it) i have done one 5k did better than i thought i would, am signed up for another 5k this coming saturday.
in the past 28 years of life i hated running that is why i never did this sooner, but i thought that once i got in better shape i would enjoy it more. but everyday that i go out running i still very much dislike it and spend the whole run in an internal struggle to keep running. right now my motivation is that i am going to run this next 5k with my mother. but i am not sure what motivation i will have after that to keep running.i have tried different routes to make it more interesting, i tried music to distract me but that didn't work.
the only part of running i enjoy is how i feel about 1/2 hour after completing the run for the day, in that i am more energized and less stressed. i want to enjoy running because this is actually the only exersize program that i have ever stuck with and it is working.
anybody else still hate running after getting into shape, and how do you keep motivated?
