TA: good on ya for setting the bar high – I firmly believe you gotta let them know your expectations from the start; and the consequences. These days it often seems as tho there ARE no consequences for peoples actions – (kids more so, but a few adults I can think of as well lol), and I suspect recess with the was indeed an excellent lesson LOL. I still remember when I was about 6, I stole a tootsie roll from our local corner store… when my dad found out, he marched me back down, I had to confess and give it back… but THEN.. he also made me PAY for it, even tho I didn’t get to keep it.. the theory being just bringing it back and admitting I had taken it cost ME nothing… I thought it was the most unfair thing in the world and he was the meanest dad ever..giggle snort.. but it was a heck of a lesson! My parents were firm believers in carrying thru with punishments.
Another time I acted up while we were out for dinner at a local restaurant (which was a big deal for us because while I didn’t know it at the time, we were pretty poor!) and there were rules about behaving in public.. and I was told the next time I’d be staying home.. sure enough a few months later my mom announced we were going out for dinner; but I wouldnt be going.. of course I didnt believe her... but a short time before leaving there was a knock at the door – and it was our babysitter!! Turned out I was being left behind as promised last time; I cried and begged and swore I’d be good.. all to no avail.. it was the easiest gig Sandra ever had because I spent the whole time crying under the covers LOL.. but lesson learned!! :ohwell:
That would be awesome if you’d be happy there for a few years – so will keep fingers crossed for the extension!! And huge kudos on deciding on the “splurgability” degree of what to eat.. I totally agree; why waste those calories on something ho hum; when you could splurge them on something absolutely yummers!! Well done! And what an awesome hubby; give him a hug from the Mad Hatters for being such a wonderful support system for one of our own LOL!0
