injury.... carbs around 50?

Hi guys!
I have been wearing a cast on my foot for the last 3.5 weeks already and was therefore not able to exercise whatsoever. On Mark's Daily Apple I read that he could keep his body composition easily while eating paleo when he had his knee surgery....
So I was wondering, after this exercise fullstop (from exercising nearly daily to nothing), how would you tweak your paleo diet? I still want to loose a little bit of body fat but keep the precious muscle I earned while exercising (at the moment I can just do some push-ups on my knees). Would you recommend to keep the carbs below 50 or even lower? I am just curious about your opinions. Maybe someone had a similar experience? I am feeling quite lost at the moment... missing my exercise! ;o)

    I recently took a month off from exercise due to travel. I simply continued to eat paleo and came out with same weight and body fat.
