What are your kitchen weapons of choice?

I say that in the most comical sense but, lets face it: there are certain things we use whether it be mechanical to make the low carb meal, or the foods we choose to replace the unfriendly-carbs with - they make up our kitchen weapons!!!

I just invested in this: http://www.amazon.com/World-Cuisine-A4982799-Tri-Blade-Vegetable/dp/B0007Y9WHQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1345808250&sr=1-1&keywords=World+Cuisine+A4982799+Tri-Blade+Plastic+Spiral+Vegetable+Slicer

This makes 'fry' cuts, noodle cuts, slice cuts on just about ANYTHING!

Last night I grabbed some zucchini and summer squash and got my noodle-cut going.. and WOW!!!! It was extremely fast and the cuts were GORGEOUS!

I just purchased some soy-sushi wrappers and cant wait to make my vietnamese spring rolls (will use konjac noodles instead of rice noodles). The wrappers come in different flavors and colors and are only 2g of carbohydrates per wrapper - IM SUPER STOKED about this!

But, this veggie spiral slicer is truly awesome! I plan on using it to make fresh oven potato fries for my husband some time, and will definitely consider Zucchini fries for myself.

.... OK... what do you have?

I use this almost every day:

    http://www.amazon.com/OXO-Good-Grips-Salad-Chopper/dp/B001AEH634/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

It doesn't really replace an unfriendly carb like pasta per se but it makes a great salad for an easy yummy low carb lunch. Only caveat is a chopped salad doesn't stay fresh as long as a torn salad. It tastes better though in my humble opinion. And you need less dressing because chopping a salad releases more of the moisture.

The tri-blade looks interesting. Right now I just grate veggies to replace noodles.

Ahhh I'm so jealous!!! That looks amazing! I have a tiny kitchen- a shoebox really but when I move into a 'proper' house next year I'll be getting me one of those bad boys!

My favourite is this mini food processor: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kenwood-CH180-Mini-Chopper-Watt/dp/B0000C6WPC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1345815469&sr=8-1

I use it all the time for veggies, making salsas, pesto's, curry paste's, stir fry sauces, and CAULI RICE etc.... it's also pretty small & cheap so store's easily.

I also use my veg peeler (this variety) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kitchen-Craft-Peeler-Vegetable-Stainless/dp/B0001IWY8C/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1345815703&sr=8-3

I use that to make my courgette (zuchinni) pasta and salads.

I also have a pretty awesome meat cleaver from an oriental market- fantastic for chopping bone-in meat.

My hand blender is great for sauces & soups, and potato masher for the cauli mash :o)

In our group, we favor supporting people who make healthy choices. Getting rid of pasta is a healthy choice and one that many treating physicians advocate for and is also recognized by MFP..... having said that, Pasta for someone like, and many of us, is not a healthy carb, in fact for me, its life-threatening.

It does replace pasta very well. Im much healthier....

My husband had to come over around 10:30pm last night and ask me "will you please ask the spiral slicer if I can have my wife back? I would really like to see her"..
