What is considered a binge?

I am wondering what people in this group think. How much food is considered a binge? When is it no longer an extra snack, or just overeating....

This may sound like a rather odd concept because I know a lot of people give specific facts and figures.
I personally believe that a binge is a feeling, it's the feeling of losing control and being unable to stop yourself from eating even if inside and outside everything, including yourself, is telling you to stop.
It's just a theory I may be wrong but ... make of it what you will

    heehee, thank you
and it's just what I've managed to deduce from binging myself really :( I don't always eat loads but I know when I'm overeating because I'm overeating and when I'm overeating because I cannot cope with emotions and for me it's nothing to do with how much I actually eat.

For me, over eating is something for special occasions or just poor food choices. Binging is usually less than 1 hour where I eat several thousand calories. it can be on food I love but I can still do it on food I tolerate. The rest of the day is followed by poor eating and I find it really hard to start eating healthy again.
