Not Sure About Cutting......

I saw this group and wanted to join to see what others are doing to cut.
I have been doing the intermediate level of You Are Your Own Gym and have completed 9 of the 10 weeks. After which, I will be moving on to the advanced level for 10 weeks.
By biggest issue with cutting is after losing weight is that I am in a comfortable place with exercise, food and calories and don't want go through repetitive cut cycles. I am trying to build a bit, but at the same time trying to build lean.
I figured I would join the group to see the variations in how people cut. I am hoping that I can figure out a plan to cut without drastically changing what and how I eat and going through repetitive bulk/cut cycles.
In any event, I will post picks and stats about this time next week when I finish my last week of YAYOG as mentioned above.

Always best to have 1 goal and stick to it, rather than trying accomplish multiple things at once and not really doing any of them.
Trying to build muscle while reducing body fat is the classic example.
With regards to bulk an cut cycles, Once you get to a good level of leanness that you are happy with you can bulk slowly and minimise fat gain. Bulking doesn't have to mean getting really fat, check out natural bodybuilders such as Matt Ogus and Joseph rackich, both stay lean all year round while slowly adding more mass.
I wish I had taken a more moderate approach over the last 6 months or so because this cut has made me realise my bf% was a fair bit higher than I thought it was.0 -
You go through cut and bulk cycles to improve. You want to gain as much muscle as possible with minimal fat and then you want to cut as much fat as possible while retaining that muscle. Unless you have some crazy good genetics then that is just the way it is. You can't really expect to cut weight once and have the "perfect" physique but I suppose that is subjective and everyone's goals are different.0

Thank you for the input! I was really wanting to gain muscle while at the same time not increasing the amount of fat. I know it's not exactly that easy.
I dropped 60 pounds off since last year and I hope my apprehension about gaining fat can be understood.
In any event, I will participate and see what I can do. I will not start until until Saturday, September 1 though so I can finish up what I am currently doing.0 -

Cuts and bulks arent clean things, you dont just bulk pure muscle, and likewise you may lose some muscle when you cut. Thats the whole thinking behind controlled 2 or 3 month cuts and bulks. You make your muscle gains without getting too large, then strip it back and do your utmost to lose as little muscle as possible0
