lower back pain

Anyone else who's never been a runner before (and not doing C25K to "get back into their running groove") find that they're having lower back pain since they started C25K? I am not sure if it's from the running, but the timing matches up. I have found back strengthening exercises to do and I do stretches after each workout which include lower back stretches... Any suggestions, thoughts, comments?...

I was doing c25k and changed my stride because of something I read and started getting lower back pain. I shortened my stride and noticed my upper torso was leaning slightly forward during my run. I straightened up my upper torso and started looking 10 strides ahead instead of slightly ahead. The pain lower back disappeard within a week and hasn't reappeared...
  • I threw my back out and had major lower back pain about three weeks into the C25K. I had to take a month off and go to physical therapy to correct it. My physical therapist had me do lots of exercises to strengthen my core and I've been fine since. So make sure you spend 10 to 15 minutes after your run working on core exercises and that will help keep your back strong and pain free. Plus you'll reduce your waistline.

I'm interested to know too, feeling a little pain on the lower back especially on the right side after this last run, did quite a good stretch after my run, but still feeling a little ache. I'm also feeling the ache sometimes during the run too, I suspect it's my posture and also pushing myself a little too hard.
