Mt Washington Hike

I hiked Mt. Washington in New Hampshire on August 23.
Starting from Pinkham Notch I hiked to the floor of Tuckerman's Ravine, The trail ascends the ravine's headwall is shown behind me.
At the top of the headwall, I reached Tuckerman's Junction.
I reached the summit in just under 4 hours
I descended from the summit taking the Davis Path to the Boott Spur trail. Here the Mt. Washington's summit cone can be seen from the Davis Path near it's junction with the Boott Spur Trail.
Total time for the hike was about 8 hours 15 minutes.

Very awesome and beautiful photos! I would like to hike Mt Washington sometime in the future. I did the Franconia Ridge Loop (Little Haystack Mtn, Mt Lincoln, Mt Lafayette) in June. That hike took me about 8 hours 15 minutes as well. I also did the Welch-****ey Loop, Mt Monadnock and Elmore Mtn in VT this summer. Wish I could have gotten more hiking in!0

Thanks for the pictures. We took our sons there years ago and took the train to the top. Not the same as hiking it, for sure! Now I want to go back to New Hampshire and hike it. See what your hard work has done? Great job!0

I've hiked Mt. Washington several times too, I love it up there! In fact, I used to work at the weather observatory as an intern.

Thanks for the great report & pictures! I was up there in July 2011 -- not as good of weather conditions when i was there, but it was still a great hike and very different from where i usually go... We also took the Tuckerman Ravine Trail up the mountain, but we descended via Lion's Head Trail. Its nice to get to see the Boot Spur perspective on your end... Might try to hike it again someday, though i have plenty of mountains "in my own backyard" to tackle too (the Adirondacks). Here is my summit photo 32 degrees (adjusted for wind chill) and 60+ mph wind gusts. Was windy and overcast from the headwall to the summit, but very pleasant below that (bordering on hot!)

I hiked Mt. Washington about 10 years ago, and would love to go back and do it again. It was a great hike, and amazing views. Def. one of the best hikes I've been on.0
