what exercise to do on off days?

I'm into my second week of training for my first 5k & wonder what exercises I should be doing on my off days? I don't want to over do it on my knees but want a daily work out. Any suggestions?

  • I swim, bike and do strength training on my days off. The strength training has really helped give me more power in my legs so I can complete the C25K workouts easier.

    My Day 1 will probably be tomorrow or Saturday.
    My current workout routine is all classes. I take a strength training / resistance training class twice a week, yoga once a week and Zumba once a week. I really should go to the abs classes before my regular classes. I need more core strengthening. My gym is at my work, so it is not available to me on weekends.
    I will probably have to double up one day with my gym class and my C25K training.

    Thanks for the advice. I'm going to start riding my bike to work again & will look into a place to swim. need to figure out a much needed strength training routine. Only up to 1.87 mi on the 5k training but going for 3mi today!
