Sports Drink or Vitamin enriched Water??

Hi - What type of sports drink do you recommend? I'm currently drinking zero calories vitamin water not sure if I need to be concerned consuming calories if I run under an hour for my training.

In general, I drink just plain water for runs under an hour. Long runs I will typically drink gatorade after, we keep both the G2 (lower cal) and regular gatorade in the fridge. If it's been a super hot, sweaty, energy depleting run and I know I need the calories I will drink the regular, otherwise I drink G2.0

If it was a long and hot run, I have propel packets that I'll add to a bottle of water. They're inexpensive and don't take up a bunch of room0

For running under an hour, water will do just fine (though definitely bring water, especially if it's hot or humid). For runs over an hour I usually pack low-calorie gatorade; the regular stuff is too syrupy for me to drink while running.0

Water and for electrolyte replacement I use Sport Beans or Clif Blocks or Cliff Gels. I cannot drink Gatorade while I run. Makes me feel like I'm gonna hurl;-) Just experiment and see what works best for your body.0
