Became Hyper Due to Weight Loss?

For something like 30 years I've been on Synthroid because I'm hypo, until recently. After weeks of not feeling like myself, being terribly warm, feeling weak, hungry hungry all of the time, heart rate high (while resting and through the roof while working out), I got my blood drawn. When my test results came back, the doctor was quite surprised that I was hyper all of sudden. I had explained that I lost 14 pounds in three or four months, and he asked if I had taken any supplements or pill. "No! Just exercising and counting calories," I said.
SO, it's been two weeks since I went two days without meds and then started on a lower dose. I'm feeling better, but not 100% back to normal. I'm fearful that I'll start gaining weight, which I think I have. I'm afraid to get on the scale. Has anyone else become hyper on meds due to weight loss? How long did it take for you to feel better? What happened to your weight?

Hi,
When I was first put on Synthroid in May, I soon went into the hyper symptoms. The Dr. lowered my dose for a month, then took me off. After a month off my hypo symptoms came back. I then asked to be put on Natural thyroid. I'm on a low dose and doing quite well.
I've lost a lot of wt. but not while on the meds. No wt. gain either.
Hope you feel better soon!0 -
A friend of mine went from hypo to hyper due to weight loss. Doctor adjusted her dosage and over the course of a month or 2, she returned to feeling normal and gained her muscle back (she was hyper for awhile and lost a lot of muscle).0

Yeah, I feel really weak. I did a triathlon this past weekend, and I was all wobbly getting out of the water. I looked like I was going to keel over, but I was just having a difficult time walking straight and getting my land legs. This is really frustrating. I am running like a 10 minute mile instead of an 8 1/2 or 9.0
