New and totally confuzzed

Hey there!
I'm new to the group. I like the idea of not starving yourself and getting back in shape... I'm hear for health not to be skinny so I joined the group and I guess I figured some guidelines would show up or something once I was part of the group... anyways.. Is there a plan that you guys follow.. I've read some posts and see people talking about certain phases it seems like. Any help would be awesome!
