Here's the bio from my website:
Steve Troutman has dedicated his career as a personal trainer and strength coach to doing what’s in his client’s best interest. Placing a premium on simplicity, evidence-based guidance, and personalization, he has spent the last decade helping his clients reach their goals safely and efficiently.
Beyond his success rates, he’s best known for his passion for educating. Rather than barking commands at his clients, they’re likely to find him explaining the whys and hows. His hope is that clients take more than a better body and better performance away from his guidance. The idea is that they deserve a true understanding so that they can continue down the path of refinement and improvement on their own.
When asked what drives him he replied:
“The largest issue in this industry today is the dilution of truth and quality of information. There are countless companies and professionals selling methods and products based on pseudoscience and mysticism. Their rigid rules and false absolutes net nothing but confusion and ‘easy pickings’ in terms of customers and sales. Ralph Waldo Emerson said it best – ‘As to methods there may be a million and then some, but principles are few. The man who grasps principles can successfully select his own methods. The man who tries methods, ignoring principles, is sure to have trouble.’”
That’s the essence of Steve’s philosophy. The endless methods that the media floods our culture with have kept people in the dark about what really matters. When the clients are taught the principles underlying fitness and nutrition, it shines an entirely new light on how to think about things.
Steve owns and operates Body-Improvements West, which is a training studio located in Pottstown, PA. He has also found his fit reaching people on the World Wide Web. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist by way of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and Certified Personal Trainer and Performance Enhancement Specialist by way of the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
With a strong drive for education and research, he has molded a great balance between science, application, education, and motivation. This balance has been the fuel for long-lasting and consistent results for his clients.

Now let's be real. I'm just some guy who has naturally gravitated toward exercise science for the majority of his life. It's one of the primary passions in my life. Heck, it's the passion second only to my family. I've read a lot of things over the years. I've talked shop with some of the brightest in the field. I've been fortunate enough to experiment with scores of clients. And above everything else, I love talking about this stuff. That's why you find me here on this very forum.
Helping people helps me. It helps me think about things differently than I would have had I only read it in a book or explained it to a particular client. It helps me refine my approach. And it helps me enjoy life a little more than I already do.
You can learn more about me at www.body-improvements.com. I offer an array of web-based services which you can check out here:
http://body-improvements.com/services/online-training/
Rest assured, I'm not here to spam. I'm not here solely to ramp up my client base. Beyond here, you'll never see me promoting my services. I don't expect anything in return when I answer questions. So please don't hesitate hitting me up on the forum or in my inbox.
