I finish recovery week tomorrow, I have not lost any weight. I have lost about half an inch off thighs and an inch off belly but I was really expecting better results from the first month. I know its only a month and I still have a month to go but does anyone else feel like your killing yourself for results that do not meet expectations. Please dont get me wrong I wasnt expecting to wake up with rock hard abs, but I honestly have done better in a month doing less brutal programs. I am going to continue and finish the program I guess Im just losing a little of my motivation and I am just looking for someone to renforce that month 2 will bring results (because they have experienced it) Wow Im whiney today, lol

Im about to start the recovery week and I am right where you are. One of the reasons I slacked off some the week before. I have gained weight, gained 1" in thighs, hips, bust and waist. The only results I have seen has been the amazing 1.5" lost in my stomach but really thats it. Plus on top of Insanity I have been doing a 2nd workout daily. Sigh, hoping the 2nd month goes alot better like I have seen people post.0

I hate to say it but I have to, I am glad Im not alone.. It makes it a real struggle to get up and do the workouts when there is no payback for all our hard work. Heres to month 2. and both of us finally seeing results0

What are your diets like?.. I have tried eating all kinds of ways. Low carb, low cals, I have found if i eat at least 1500 cals and close to 100 grams of protein a day , that is where i start seeing good weight loss without sacraficing my muscles.0

I'll be the first to say my diet isn't the best but that being said it most certainly is 60-70% better than it use to be. I still eat out alot and on the days I don't stress my eating I always go over my protein. But even on days I focus on cleaning up my diet protein isn't too bad. I generally eat 1800-2000 cals. Meaning mostly I try for 1500 and eating back cals.0

I was eating low carb so protein is way high but calories lower. However I am trying to raise my carb intake now because even when my carbs were down at 20 a day I was still not losing. I am now going to focus on calories with a slightly higher carb intake but from healthy sources... I know its my diet that is preventing results so for month 2 I am focusing more on that aspect then anything else0

I just posted a similar response in another forum, but wanted to repeat it here:
I just finished the whole 63-day program this past Saturday. And although I know my stamina has improved, I saw absolutely no results in inches or weight loss. And I would attribute that to my poor eating. Not that I was eating anything terribly unhealthy, just probably taking in too many calories.
So if you're not seeing your desired results, and feel like you're pushing through the workouts as hard as you personally can, then my suggestion would be to take a really close look at your diet, and see where you can improve things.
Good luck everyone!0 -

Cant stress the above enough! Results are 70% diet! Re-check your calories. What are your salt levels like? How much artificial sugar are you taking in? how much water are you drinking? I'm on day 51 and I AM seeing results I lost weight the first 2 weeks of Month 1 then gained it ALL back by Recovery Week HOWEVER - and this is most important part my measurements and body fat continued to go down then Week 6 BOOM! Relost all the weight from Month 1 and then some and now with 12 days left I'm losing weight quickly rapidly AND my measurements and body fat is STILL going down.0 -

question for you adjoa84: were you following the Insanity nutrition guide to a "T"? or did you just follow the MFP guidelines set up for you? I just found that there was so much of a discrepancy between the recommendations for calorie intake that I think i usually fell somewhere in between the 2. And truthfully I doubt I could eat the amount recommended by the Insanity guidelines. It's about 1000 calorie difference from my MFP intake.
I'm just curious, because if i do decide to do another round, or at least repeat the second month again, I'd like to be a little more accurate and see if there's a change.0 -
Thanks adjoa....Just last night I found myself feelin very discouraged too because I feel like my body hasn't changed...or if so...VERY little....not to mention that dum scale!!! I know too that I need to do alot better food-wise...have improved quite alot (enough I thought to at least see better results than I have at this point) but there is of course still lots of room for improvement...Finishing up Month 1 this week then on to recovery...really hope it "kicks in" and my body starts to respond favourably very soon!0

Yeah the whole disprency in calories stressed my head in the beginning so here's what I decided was right for ME;
Insanity/Beachbody is independent from MyFitnessPal in the guide it doesnt mention anything about eating calories back (although before Insanity i was) It's already got the exercise factored in. So I eat *around* (my rec. kcals were 1645kcal I eat 1500 - 1600kcal) the amount it recommends HOWEVER i chose moderately active when doing the calculation rather than very active reason being - let's be real - we don't always push on every workout
Here's what I did follow as strictly as possible;
1. my macros 40 40 20
2. I drink a MINIMUM of 8 glasses of water but more like 10 - 12
3. Watch my salt levels like crazyyy. A high salt week meant no movement in inches and on the scales unfortunately :-/
3. No fast food - i think I've had mcDonalds once since starting and pizza 3 times
4. No alcohol
5. No fried food
6. No fizzy drinks
7. I eat fruit rather than drink it
My weakness is sweets and cake! lol So I had them in Month 1 but when I began to start seeing real results I chose the results over the sweets and cake so i keep them to a minimum but I still do eat them!
My other weakness before starting the programme were crisps and biscuits but I decided something had to give - did i want results or not? So I cut out biscuits completely and I've had crisps a couple of times in Month 1.
Through Month 1 I also starting to read about eating more for less (In place of a road map i think the thread and group is called) so i wanted to re-check the calories recommended based on their method of calculating calories to lose weight and guess what? it was spot on; 1696kcals to lose weight based on moderate activity at my height and weight
So I know the calories are right for me...
Do not be afraid to tweak the calories recommended and err on the side of caution re activity level BUT put it down by 100 to 200 not 500calories plus I reckon. Also i'm not expert but I'm personally finding that when I eat GOOD calories i'm fuller on less when i dont.
Hope this helps somebody. I know higher kcals are hard to get your head round but it works! Check out 'In place of a road map' perhaps

just a thought but maybe consider doing another round? Not only will you be able to push harder but you'll probably continue to clean up your diet? I'm going do another round I think. I reckon if I cut out all the treats from the beginning I might got to goal quicker but I'm thinking I might need another round...a lady on my friend list is going to do her 3 round so she can get to goal but another lady I know only took one round...i guess our bodies all respond differently0 -

Yes doing a second round is definitely something I'm considering...I was even thinking of repeating month 1 before going to Month 2 but I decided I'm gonna push through and give Month 2 a try (might be the push my body needs to start letting go of this fat!) and I'm sure i'll do alot better next time around...I find myself a bit sore lately though and I haven't felt that since about the 1st week in...not sure if it's because of the week break i had or something else but trying to push through it....thanks again for all the advice!0
