Hi! Thank you for inviting me. I am going to throw a very difficult question to you and expect a "too easy" of an answer. (That would be from anyone) But I am determined to beat this thing and am very overwhelmed right now of how!
I have chronic pain and fatigue. DAILY fighting through this. Over the course of a more than a few years I have managed to lose 102 pounds and on good days, workout for an hour (intense). On bad days, not be able to even clean my house. I NEED to find consistency.
Do you have any suggestion of what I can do to battle the debilatating fatigue/muscle and get a workout in without increasing the fatigue/pain from it?
Oh, I have fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. have had it for over a decade! Sorry, for that not so fancy format for questioning you. I am feeling very sick right now.
Thanks

I really wish I could help. Your question falls outside of my scope and knowledge base though. I've worked with a lot of people over the years, but unfortunately nobody with your issues/symptoms. I could throw ideas at you, but they'd merely be guesses. When I find some time (read: when I'm not falling asleep at the keyboard), I'll do some digging to see if I can find anything useful for you.
I'm going to guess though, that it's going to be a matter of experimenting - find what your sensitive to vs. what you can tolerate well. And it's also going to be about learning when to push it and when to back off. I realize that's not helpful at all... but again, let me do some digging.
What do your docs have to say about all of this? Don't they have any advice for you?0 -
Actuually the drs are using my "successes" as learning tools for themselves. These conditions, though not new, are fairly unexplored in successful matters. Most stories that I have read and info given to me from the drs is based on accepting the "debilatating" aspect of it. So thus far I am a success story. But the setbacks are damaging to weightloss due to the battle with keeping the metabolism up etc. However, I would love to know how a new thinner me would handle the FM and CFS flareups or even it they would be as powerful or less.
I would love to know the very basics of the medical side of what happens to our muscles and how working out effects them. So if you have a link on that kind of stuff that I could read indepth, I would love that. Then I could compare that information to what I know happens to me symptomatically after a FM or CFS flareup. And maybe, like I have done thus far in my journey, I could come to some considerations on how to better find consistency, with your help and others.
Sorry to throw you such a hardball. I am forever searching and appreciate any information that I can learn even as I read correspondence between you and other group members. I refuse to give up! That is the good news.

I have fibro too and you may find that there is a correlation between the muscle pain/fatigue and a Vitamin D deficiency. When I started taking Vit. D after getting tested I found I felt much better.0

Thank you for posting this rompers16. I DO have a Vit D def. but didn't think it did all of that. Maybe my research should start there. How big of a difference did it make for you?0

I was going to mention Vitamin D as well. A doctor recommended it when I mentioned muscle soreness constantly and a back aches. Within one month of taking it my energy level increased and pain has subsided quite a bit. I feel like a whole new person. I take 1000-2000 mg of Vitamin D3 per day (in the morning)0

Thank you lambertj! I started taking them 3 days ago. My hormonal dr told me that I am indeed low and wants me to take 5000 mg a day. So I started. I am keeping a journal on all of this now to figure it out. Hope it helps!0
