    I didn't get as many miles as I wanted, it rained today. :(

    Ack! Being in Hawaii, I totally forgot to log my miles from last week, but I did have 17 running miles and 10 walking miles, as I have been walking everywhere while here!

    As for this week:

    9/2 6 miles running, 2 miles walking = 8 total
    9/3 1 mile walking = 9 total

    Not sure how much I will get as now I have a nasty cold. :(

    9/4 1 mile walking =10 total
    9/5 1 mile walking =11 total
    9/6 1 mile running 3 miles walking =15 total

    I am done for the week. Thought I felt better, and 10 minutes into my run, bonk! A flight back to the mainland, rest on Sat, and hopefully all better for Sunday!

    Sunday: I was out of town this weekend...went on a 7 mile round trip hike to the top of Harney's Peak, South Dakota, with my friend that I was visiting.

    Monday: was in the car most of the day driving home...
    Tuesday: slept all day. much needed rest. skipped outdoor bootcamp class.
    Wednesday: 1.7 mile walk at lunch with coworker, ~3.5 miles of speedwork with warmup and cool down at Wednesday night running group
    Thursday: indoor boot camp class tonight after work...we do a lot of body weight resistance stuff but not really any "distance" that I can log

    Thanks - yes I am tapering. May go for a walk tomorrow, but trying to save my legs. Cutting out my kettlebell workouts this week too - because those can get me really sore!

    this first week of school was kind of crazy. for the rest of the semester, i will try to run 5 days a week (thurs-mon), but won't beat myself up if i can only manage 3 a week when my workload increases.

    The HM was tougher than I thought. I ended up slower than my training pace for some reason - had some side stitches, and had to take 2 pit stops!!! But I did it, and now I feel pretty good! On to my next one in 3 weeks.

    How did u fuel, hydrate before and during your race?? Did you try different fuels during training runs? Did you hydrate well two days and one day before ur race? Food you eat day before can affect your run too... only 3wks til your next!! You go, girl! Wow.

    I ate 500 cals above maintenance the day before - lots of pasta, bread, etc. I also drank 12 glasses of water the day before. I ate one of my energy chews that I make during the race (nuts, dates, milk powder, chia seeds, cocoa), and drank at most water stops - water or powerade.

    It was in the low 70's, but 85% humidity, so I am sure that contributed to the side stitches. I almost cried when I finished - it was such an emotional release.

    i can't even imagine! !!i hope to be able to do that some day. you've been training well and putting the miles in -- sounds like you were as prepared as you could be for this, and i'm sure you'll do even better on your next one. congrats again.
