Activity Level reconfiguration ...

Hola everyone!

So, I moved back to the U.S. from Spain and of course, my activity level has plummeted. As a grad student that spends most of the day in front of the computer, I don't walk around as much as I used to.

As far as exercising goes, I work out about 5-6 days a week from 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours (the longer time is when I do interval jogging for six miles and the shorter time is a warm-up walk and heavy weight lifting).

I'm not sure if I fall under moderate or strenuous for the scooby calculator-- especially since my daily activity is quite low ...

Any help/ideas/ advice would be appreciated!

TIA,
Allison

You would still be considered Strenuous. The activity level does not include your regular normal activity, it just means the hours in a week when you are actively doing exercise.. so if you are doing 1-2 hours a day for 6 days, then yes, you are in the strenuous category.

However, you may want to play around with it a bit, and find out what your Cals would be for strenuous, and what they would be for moderate, and try eating in the middle and see what that does for you. ALso, over time, your body will adjust to the workouts you are doing and it will become less efficient at burning fuel, so change things up a bit, do try some HIIT when you are doing your runs for a change. Some people also find they dont count walking, for warmup or normal routine walking as part of their exercise since this is something that is always happening. so something to think about too..

    Hope this helps
