No plateau

I'm on week 3 of a reset and everything's going ok so far. A small weight gain but after struggling for the first few days I'm now even finding myself left hungry at times.

Reading a lot of posts there seems to be a common theme to them that I don't share. A lot of people seem to have taken up EM2WL due to plateauing on VLCD's.

I lost around 60lbs in a little over a year (started at 360lbs) and had one plateau midpoint. All I changed was I started to have high days and low days but maintain the same average overall and the weight started shifting again.
The reason I found myself here was because I was on a daily average of 2000 cals (before light exercise, BMR 2550) and was considering dropping lower. Not due to a plateau but as I was often finding I wasn't hungry at the end of day and felt like I was eating just to hit a calorie target. I stumbled across here while searching whether it was safe to do so. (I would have been dropping to 1600 calories average, as low as 1300 on low days)

I guess what I'm wondering is as I was still losing weight does that mean my metabolism wasn't completly shot? Would it make sense for my metabolism to recover better as I was still losing weight so it can't have slowed right down?

From what I understand, folks who have a great deal of weight to lose may continue to lose eating below BMR longer than other folks, simply because their BMR is so much higher in the first place.
