JMBR + Hydroxicut...what do you think?

Hello everybody! so I've hit this plateau for quite some time now and is realy driving me insane!
I just started the 3rd week of the BR and not missed a day, I can definitely see a few changes in my body and the weight moved only about 3 lbs since I started...I thought it was going to be a bit more dramatic than that.
Anyway, just this morning I started thinking about adding a diet pill like Hydroxicut or something similar.....what do you think? Just to move my weight down, motivate myself and continue without the pills.
My weekdays routine is very healthy and on target, but the weekends could be terrible. I also have weekends that I've behaved and still no weight loss and is driving me crazy!
I need to get over this plateau soon.....I've been up and down 1lbs for almost 2 months now.
Thanks for your help!

Perhaps I'm reading your wrong. You're concerned because you've ONLY lost 3 pounds in 3 weeks?! That's what most people would call a healthy accomplishment. A pound a week loss most certainly does not make for a plateau.
Your diary isn't open, so I can't offer much advice, but am going to assume that since you are thinking of using junk diet pills that you are a low calorie eater too.
I was a 1200 calorie eater in the beginning. After a 3 month plateau at 1200 I made the switch to the "eat more to weigh less" camp. I am 5'4", 36 years old, and weigh 131.8 pounds. I eat 10-15% below my TDEE, which puts me in the neighborhood of 1600-1700 calories per day on most workout days. I am losing at a rate of .5-1 pound per week, without sacrificing valuable muscle.
Look for the group called "In Place of a Roadmap". Lots of great people in there and tons of info about selecting the right calorie goal for your activity level.0 -
That's great! thanks for the advice. Well, yes! I tend to consume less than my calorie allowance (1200 cal a day without working out) but I'm afraid if I eat more I won't lose anything.
I'm 5'2" and currently at 175lbs, 37 years old. I've lost (since March when I started this journey) 35lbs aprox and I love it! I was at a pace of 2lbs a week steadily...now I drop 1lb one week but the next week I'll get it right back and so on, it's been like that for almost 2 months now.
During my lifetime I've taken all the pills there are, and done all the "super diets" but none of them work in the long run - that I know for sure. I just want to get out of the 170s already.
I have never ever in my entire life workout like I'm doing now so I guess I was expecting a bit more of a weight loss - my frustration is that is comes down and up again so those 3lbs this morning where just 1lb....we'll see what happens next Monday.
Anyway, Thanks for listening! I won't take them and stay strong with my routine and try to eat as heatlhy as I can.
REALLY, THANKS!0 -

You've lost three pounds and three weeks. You are not in a plateau. A plateau would be zero weight loss for several weeks, even months. You said, "My weekends could be terrible." That sounds like an issue that you could pay more attention to. Consistency is key. You didn't put the weight on overnight, and it's not going to come off overnight. Just be consistent. Your hard work will pay off; just give it more time.0 -
I agree with the others, 3 lbs in 3 weeks is not a plateau, that is great weight loss.
I recently finished BR and lost approx 12 lbs for the entire 3 month program. And I don't think I lost that much weight in the 3 first weeks.
As for the pill, I'd just say no.0 -
Thank you all, and you're all so right! I'm so into losing this extra weight and working out every day that some days is discouraging when I step into the scale and I see no weight loss, but you're right...I just started and it took me years to put on this much weight on, so the least I can do is keep trying and give myself some time.
The BR program is really helping and now that I'm on week 3 is a bit more intense and challenging. I definitely need to put more attention to my diary over the weekends - that's for sure!
Thanks for listening and your support, it really helps!0 -
Just give it time. We've all been in that frustrated place. Just remember to do what's sustainable long-term. Don't deprive yourself. The 1200 calories might be too low for you. Experiment a little and see what happens. Good luck, and keep it up!0
