Carb Cycling

I have upped my calories over the last 2 weeks, also doing Insanity.
I started reading Chris Powell's book about the 7 day carb cycling.
I am not technically overweight, but really am working hard to lose belly fat.
Has anyone tried this, while still eating enough to sustain. The menu of foods make a lot of sense and it also states you need to eat every 3 hours and within 30 minutes of waking. The foods are mostly what I eat anyway.
But it recommends 1200 on low carb days and 1500 on high carb days. But I am wondering if this is mainly for people that are overweight or obese.
So I think I am going to try and do a mixture of eating more and carb cycling.
BMR: 1355
TDEE: 2100

I can't speak to the calories, but I bet someone who can will chime in.
As for the carb cycling, a trainer friend told me to try cycling like this:
Day 1 = 150g
Day 2 - 100g
Day 3 - 50g
Day 4 - as close to 0 as possible
Day 5 - repeat from day 1
I haven't tied it because I do a lot of cardio, which requires carbs. I can say my friend who does it looks AMAZING!
I'm interested to hear how it works for you.0 -
Well it seems the book is focused more on people that need to lose a lot weight but in my research this is something a lot of body builders do. I am about to incorporate les mills pump and insanity at the same time.
The book teaches doing strength training on low carb days and cardio training on high carb days.0 -
So 150 & 100 ARE the hi carb days? Yikes. I've ordered the book from my library but I think it's popular, there are many others in line for it. So cool, I've been wondering how it's done & what's it all about.0
