Mid day crash

I am three days into pure Paleo and I started crashing hard core around 1:00. Any ideas? I had class late last night and went to CrossFit this morning at 5:30 but I slept pretty good all night.
I ate breakfast and lunch, maybe I need another snack in there somewhere? I'm just not hungry.

If you're transitioning to "pure paleo" from a regular SAD diet, or low-fat/cal diet, then you probably have the infamous "carb flu". Your body is not used to not having easy energy to burn from carbs. Almost EVERYONE gets this. I felt lethargic, no-energy, and foggy from day 3-10. Then it totally went away.

I concur with the carb flu. I was tired, cranky, and had really bad headaches for about 10 days. It's just temporary until your body switches to using fat as its energy source.0

By all means, snack on something if you feel the need to. It's not going to hurt you. I'd try some protein and fat because your mind is telling your body to eat carbs to fuel itself. Stay strong and stick to berries (if you must do fruit) but a better choice would be beef jerky or a hard boiled egg.0

Bulletproof is your med while you are transforming into Paleo. Try start with small cuz it will keep you up all day running, you could do two WODs from it.
I am still having the coffee buzz from this morning, lol!

what is bulletproof?
Im day 3 too and feel like CRUD - I have a MASSIVE headache and I have NO energy. Im rethinking things until after this weekend - I have a half marathon on sat and cannot imagine getting through it feeling like this.0 -
I'm getting on the bulletproof train this weekend for sure! Thanks for the feed back. Getting through my WOD's is going to be a pain if I'm feeling like this! I JUST graduated from the beginner class to the regular class and I already feel like they're trying to kill me!
But I still love it....

i'm three weeks into primal. i haven't experienced the "carb flu", no headaches or feeling crappy, but i still hit that slump around noon. i'm still waiting for all this awesome energy to hit me but i don't think its gonna. lol0

Bulletproof coffee is a must for me. I also try to bring a hard boiled egg and approx 15 almonds with me in case snacks are needed. A piece of fruit will help you get through the carb flu - it helped me and I had it from like days 5-10.0
