Race to a 500 pound deadlift

Wanted to see if anyone wants to get in on this.
There were some similar threads on bb.com and it was fun watching videos and seeing people make progress.

I'm sitting at 430x5 right now.
Gonna go for a heavy single next week.

    pulled 435 X 1 in the spring, but i started focusing more on endurance stuff and my strength has dropped. still have 500 on my goal list though.

    yes. and it varies. I don't feel like I get a ton on deads, I'm just stable when I wear one.
    On squats I feel a significant difference.

    I'm pulling on wednesday. Planning on going for 405, 455, 480, then possibly 500. We'll see what happens.

    Good luck everyone - I hit 500 about 5 weeks ago, and will be trying for 550 either Thursday or next Monday.

    Pull big, and make the earth shake as you let the metal meet the ground!

    I hit 500 back in a meet in May but slacked all summer and am going to be maxing for the first time in a few weeks. I might be back in this race. Good luck!

    I'm still new to the game, so I'm still in that "growing by leaps and bounds" stage. I'll try 525 next Thursday. 495 came up a lot easier this time, though. Could have done another rep, but wanted to save some for the max effort lift.

    In. I hit 200kg which is 441lb in April and have not maxed out since, will max at some point in the next few weeks.

    2 weeks ago i hit 495 for 1.(which was a battle) Currently i'm on a deload. So i'm planning to hit it by November

    ****ing totally in on this one..

    current program is geared for a 220kg finish. have a comp mid november. will be loading the 3rd attempt to 227kg (500lbs)

    hit a pretty easy 210kg lift in a comp 4-5 weeks ago. failed a 220 at the knees on lift 3. was a full 3 lift comp so was pretty farking tired for that attempt needless to say haha.
    i see 227 as a genuine target for next comp on the 18/11
  • I hit 500 this time last year, but it has dropped off with me being in season for American Football. I am at 450lbs for a 1rm. Hoping to hit 500lb and more by the time my pre-season starts in Feb. Following Wendlers 5/3/1 to help me get there.

    500 lbs - done! Sadly, forgot my camera.

    This push for 500 has also had another bonus effect:

    That is a 56 lb weight being launched first 12, then 13 feet in the air. Working on the deadlift got me the strength and flexibility to just SMASH the event at Saturday's highland games. And then got 14'6" for the keg toss at the end of the day!
