Can someone explain why we go from a solid 20 minutes back to intervals? I feel so accomplished for running 20 I want to try again!

Helps build your speed is what I've gathered from it. I wanted to just keep going considering I've accomplished the 20 minute run, but I then remembered it was a slow speed during those 20 minutes. Dont' worry, the intervals are going to go away soon enough. Enjoy them while you can!0

I think it's to give your body time to recover and strengthen from that run before you try it again otherwise you may risk injury.0

There are only 2 more interval runs after that first 20 minutes. So don't worry, the long running times will come soon enough!0
