Coles

Hi all,

I found slim pasta in Coles yesterday in the gluten free/health section.

Haven't tried it yet though

Hey Jules, I'm Julz... :) haha

I regularly eat the slim pasta!! It is very plain, I imagine similar to like a rice paper... As when reading the back I noticed it was inspired by asian cooking.....

I mix tuna in with mine, and baby rocket/spinach....

Or I mix steam fresh vegetables in with it, just to give it a bit of extra flavour and filling.... However I could happily eat it plain.... And I do eat the whole packet...... It's about 30c or 45c.

    I think :)

Have fun with it - sometimes they have deals for it on *CatchOfTheDay* brother/sister website *GroceryRun* - so you may want to keep a look out for that to if you are looking to buy it in larger quantities :)

Thanks, I just bought some, will be trying it for dinner tonight :)
  • I love Slimpasta. I recently bought glucomannan flour from vitacost so that I can make my own with a pasta machine.

It's got lots of fibre, so some people may have issues with regularity, bloating and low protein absorption.

The angel hair variety has less carbs than the other one.

Yep, I buy it too. I like the angel hair one. I buy it from Woolies. I've noticed that my local Asian food store has a cheaper version, but I'm happy to pay a bit more and get the thinner noodles. I think it needs a lot more cooking than what the pack recommends. eg. microwaving for 5 mins or so. I only ever have it with bolognese sauce, so it's think/strongly flavoured and hides the noodles somewhat. I've been thinking of trying it with a laksa (I used to love the Laksa recipe in the Symply Too Good to be True books, but haven't cooked it for years).
