Zilla I always thought that flat bench press was a bit overrated because no matter how good your form is it always seem to give more isolation to the shoulder than it deserves. At least with the bar, while I still do it I actually incline the bench slightly by a notch. And focus on decline press and incline. Finish off with dumbbell fly or machine.

I also recovered fully from rotator cuff injury from simply working out. I need to get it checked soon again to see how it is doing. Scar tissue seems to be an issue I'm sure as I move it and feel the weird "Scraping feel at times".

helpful info! i have been doing i guess "a bodybuilder bench press" on and off for 15yrs. its only recently that i have adjusted my form. my bench now is more a total upper body movement with minimal strain on my shoulder. my old form isolated my chest more but became murder on my shoulder as i got older.

Going through shoulder problems now because of incorrect bench technique in the past with heavy weight. I try to flex and squeeze more now with lighter weight. Now I hit 20-30 reps with 225 on the flat to begin my chest workout after that its all about the pump. Posted it to maybe help someone else avoid issues later on in life.
