This (low carb) diet is in the Men's Health Big Book of exercise, my friend has just lost a whopping 6 stone on this plan. Following the 4 week plan (which is fairly limited) there is a maintenance eating plan, where you add extra foods. No arduous calorie counting,because the food report on MFP does that for you of course. I started a week ago and apart from being irritable and tired for a few days, I feel great. The advice is to limit carbs to between 50-70 grams a day, so I have put my overall nutritional proportions to 25% carbs, 45% protein and 30% fat. The theory is to multiply the pounds of your target weight by 10, so if you are aiming for 140, multiply this by 10 and your total daily calorie intake should be around 1,400 calories but I think this is too much for me, as I want a quick fix I am proposing to keep to 1,000 cals per day. At approximately 2 stone overweight and only 5ft tall I need to see a speedy result or I will fail again!
