Hi there,

I've been going to the Calgary Weight Management Centre since April 2012. I've pretty much seen no weight loss and I'm following the diet super close (except weekends!). I've gotten more active too, but it hasn't seemed to make a dent. Rory suggested I try counting calories so here I am. Has anyone experienced really slow weight loss? How do you stay motivated when the scale and pant sizes don't go down?

  • It is so easy to become discouraged. I too have had crazy slow weight loss. I finally stopped weighing myself so often and do my best to treadmill 5x week minimal for 30 minutes. Progress remained slow. I watched my foods (not being perfect) and I have been focusing on my water intake. After 6 weeks the scale moved a wee bit, however, I feel my body shape has changed. That's what is motivating me now. The scale.......I'm learning it's not that important. Exercise, tracking my food and reviewing is. So keep it up and don't lose faith. Something WILL happen. It's those little victories that will motivate you. Throw your scale away for now. It's not your friend. Good luck to you. Remember how you were feeling before joining CWMC and the reasons why you joined. Progress is slow nut achievable. Set milestones. You can do it!!
