Hi
Iam looking in the the Fitbit and the Body Fit Media and just need some information. Based on what Iam seeing with the Body Fit Media you have to also pay an extra charge each month for the program? I am not seeing anything like that with the Fitbit am I correct?

Also, when on the Fitbit site there are 2 different ones. One of them has something that has to do with sleep and the other one doesnt. Is the one without sufficient? (which one do you guys have)

Any additional info would be great!! iam unsure of what to buy. I am not liking the thought of an additional monthly charge with the BFM but Im wondering if im just missing that with the Fitbit? thanks

There is no monthly charge with fitbit.

The two types of fitbit now available have only just been released, there was previously just the fitbit Ultra which most guys on here have at the moment. The new fitbit One replaces the Ultra. It has been updated to allow Bluetooth syncing with iPhone etc and it is water resistant. The fitbit Zip is a simpler model that runs on replaceable batteries rather than being rechargeable. The Zip is more of a basic pedometer and doesn't have the more fancy features such as sleep recording associated with the One.

I love my fitbit and highly recommed the brand.

I have the BMF Link and I love mine!!!! There is a $7 monthly fee (the first 3 months are free) but, for me, it's worth it. It has really helped me to understand what my true TDEE is and I'm a total numbers person so when I can see all the numbers in one place, it really helps me!

I have a Fitbit and I love it....For one thing it links to MFP and the Fitbit site is free. The two Fitbit sites that you are seeing is the fitbit.com site for just the plain Fitbit and the one with the sleep activity is for Fitbit Ultra which I have - Which just shows you how you sleep at night, how many times you wake up through the night, etc. This to me is a big bonus b/c I have issues with sleeping and this helps me know my patterns. The main reason I bought this though is to see what my true TDEE is and how active I am throughout the days.

With the BFM - If you have sensitive skin - I have heard many many people talk about breaking out or having raw skin where it stays on their arm all day every day - which is one reason why I did NOT buy that when I was doing my research between the two.

    Hope this helps!!

I think they are both exciting in theory I considered getting one when I started out too because I loooove gadgets) but I could see myself using it for a little while and then putting it away forever. Nothing is truly accurate. It might be great to start out with but in my life even the HRM has proven worthless. As long as I am eating right and exercising what more do I need to know? and the best part is that I can keep this up forever. I am not good at numbers anyway ;) Happy exercising :)
  • I have a BMF. Just got it a few weeks ago. I have been very surprised at how high it calculated my TDEE. I have read that a lot of people love it but have heard a few say it just made them gain weight because it estimates really high.
