Time Stops for No One

Hello Athletes,
One of the most common reason for lack of exercise is time. Time is our most precious commodity because there is no way to get more of it and it doesn't stop. So in order to ensure that you are getting the most out of what little time you dedicate to yourself for this workout, it is crucial to have a plan and knowledge. Here are 3 key concepts to consider when designing and executing your workout:
1). No distractions. It is extremely important for you to dedicate ALL this time to your training. Hold off on sending that email, text or taking that phone call until after you have completed your training session. Again efficiency is key therefore it is essential for your heart rate to not go down and for you to stay focus. Design your workout to have 1-2 minutes performing the exercise and about 10-15 seconds for resting/recovering, and then repeat. Whether you are working out alone or with a partner, keep it going and perform beyond measure for the entire time!
2). Know your heart rate zones. A heart monitor will inform you immediately of how your body is performing at any point during the training session. To determine your heart rate zones use the following formulas Zone 1=60-70% of Max HR, Zone 2=71-80% of Max HR and Zone 3=81-90% of Max HR, where 220-Your Age=Max HR. It is important to stay in zone 2 for the majority of the workout and for short burst of time take your HR to zone 3. This will allow you to burn more calories in a short amount of time.
3). Eat a smart pre-workout meal. With time being our worse enemy, every second and rep count. In order for you to perform at your best for the entire workout, you must have fuel in the tank to help you push it through. Eating a healthy, light but quality meal about 1hr prior to your session will give you the energy and focus you need to take advantage of every second.
Applying these 3 concepts will allow you to execute and get the most out of every workout.
No excuses, no limits = Results!!!!
